A (photo) recap

It's been busy around here. I know that's really not much of a surprise, but sometimes it takes me off guard really just how busy we have been.


Here's a quick photo recap:

1. We went to Portland at the end of July to see Audrie and her little sister Al.I hadn't seen Al since she was still hearing jean shorts and had braces. Now, she's entering her last year of college and is a touch sassy. It was made for a fun weekend. We had a del.i.cious. brunch, took a (strenuous!) beautiful hike, and fed the ducks in a park. Photos are from the park.

2. The first weekend in August is famous in Seattle for the Blue Angels summer show. We met up with Phil and Julie, Kristi, Tessa and Brad for the show at Seward Park. It's a prime spot because the Blue Angels fly right above you. (No, really, they fly RIGHT above you.) Don't worry: Nate had great ear protection. It was so great, our little man fell asleep. (He's a true Woodrow: when we went to California, he fell asleep before the plane pushed back from the jetway.)

3. This past weekend, we went to the San Juan Islands. It's always a wonderful get-away for us, and we are so blessed to have a dear friend who is from the islands that we stay with. This time, Jeff came with us. It was a stunning Washington weekend, and we made the most of it: good eating, a day of boating, hiking to the beach, watching the sunset and shooting stars, oh, and watching Orca whales. Jump out of the water.
