-isms

Every mom and dad has a whole list of the -isms that their kids say.

We aren't any different. Here are a few that made me smile today:

When looking at the collage frame we have with family wedding photos, Nate asks why there are so many snowmen. I realized he was actually talking about the brides in their white dresses...including me.

The kids love taking their vitamins. Granted... they are gummy vitamins, just like a fun gummy bear. (These are classic though: they are Flintstone gummy vitamins.) In any case, they are still wrapping their little mouths around saying "vitamin." So, they call them their gummy dive-ins.

Nightly, we have routine: jammies, read a story, say a prayer, sing songs. Lately, the kids have started singing along to the first 4 that Greg and I always sing. But sometimes we deviate from the order, or don't include one of the usuals - especially if it's a late-to-bed-night. And when we don't follow the usual plan, Brooke - quick defiantly - chimes in: no, sing Twinkle Twinkle (sometimes she calls it Winkle Winkle) or Sunshine (for You are My Sunshine). Always, it makes me laugh.

And on that musical note (ha, ha) the kids have also decided that they need a warm up before grace (we sing grace at our house). The warm up? ABCs. Naturally.

  1. Scott was looking at my name tag today, and when I told him what it was, he replied "tic tac". Guess that's what a name tag is!! :-)
