The Beach

It's true that the "California Girl" still lives in me. Not the Baywatch/90210 California Girl, but the one that loves the ocean, the sand between my toes, and a good salty breeze. The water and the salty breeze are, most days, are taken care of, thanks to Tacoma being right on the water and our house being about a mile from the water's edge (it is as wonderful as it sounds). But Washington doesn't have much in the way of lovely, soft, velvety sandy beaches.

We christened Nate to the beach in Washington in mid-July - and for those who are convinced that it is always windy. cold, and slightly rainy on the Washington coast (my husband included), rest assured. We managed to take Nate to the beach for the first time when it was 70 and sunny.

Also, for the record, our stroller is awesome. Maybe not take-through-the-sand-dunes awesome, but it is awesome. And it does go to the beach, just not as smoothly as it, say, goes to the grocery store or on a hike.
