Two won today.

And by that: I mean that my two year old won. He triumphed. Is victorious. Is the grand-champion. Took home the W. However you look at it: he and I went toe-to-toe today, and he won.

Not that it was a contest. Right? I mean, I realized this about 3/4 of the way through the day. It's not even rational to try to rationalize with a not-even-two-year-old. And yet, there was I was (several) times today, trying to note how his random and completely melodramatic-falling-to-the-floor crying fits were not necessary. Not even necessary, but unwarranted. Over the top.

Until I realize that this was just his moment. A much too tired moment, and one that he needed to live out.

We're hopefuly for a more restful day tomorrow.

Brooke on the other hand, was full of smiles.

Seriously, the Big G puts them both in my life to balance each other out. And to balance me.

Today is a day that the cup of tea wasn't large enough, the chocolate not rich enough, the house not big enough for all of us. (Well, Nate and I anyway.) I know, I know: there will be plenty of these other moments on the road ahead. The road today, though, felt like it was a whole week. And really, it was only 15 hours.

Onward and upwards. Tomorrow's the end of the week - and that's always something to look forward to.
Whew!
